WoW: Burning Crusade Classic Arena Season 1 Begins Today

World of Warcraft : Burning Crusade Classic's opening WOTLK Classic Gold Arena season has officially started with players able to test their abilities against other players in 3v3. 2v2 or 5v5-rated PvP.

By participating in Arena games, players earn Arena points every week, based on the performance of their team, which are then able to be exchanged in to acquire powerful weapons and armor. Teams must play at least 10 matches to get points for any given week, and the player's individual needs to have been a participant in at least 30% of matches played during the week to be eligible for points. The top .5 percentage of players will also be awarded the Swift Nether Drake Mount, which will only be available during the game's first Arena season.

Arena mode was introduced by World of Warcraft with the initial Burning Crusade expansion in 2007 it has been an integral part of the game ever since. As the games evolved, in later releases, players could also participate in Rated Battlegrounds in addition to Arena to gain the game's most powerful PvP gear.

The way the Burning Crash Classic's Arena system operates differs from the way it was in 2007. For Burning Crusade Classic, players begin with a rating of 0. instead of 1500 as the Arena rating that all teams began at in the initial game. The result is that Blizzard is ensuring that teams that have a rating lower than 1500 will earn a higher amount of Arena points than teams in that game.

Certain pieces of gear will have ratings requirements that must be fulfilled in order to be acquired, something that was introduced later in the life of the expansion in conjunction with the launch in Burning Crusade Arena Season 3. The moment a new season kicks off, gear from older Arena seasons is available to purchase by using points that do not have buy WOW WOTLK Classic Gold rating requirements. The Burning Crusade Classic's Arena matchesmaking algorithm has made adjustments to the original game in the form of Blizzard altering its MMR system to improve the quality of matches.
